I've set up POCs with customers before without VCS or CUCM. Basically just
tell the unit there's no gatekeeper, assign a static address, and then dial
by IP addresses to the other units. I don't believe it will do URI dialing
without some sort of call agent though. This is obviously not a full
featured solution, but it can help when you're in a pinch.

Thanks friends for your support
I have another question ... to use cisco EX90 .. how much bandwidth needed ...?
Is internet line with 2 Mbps enough or not?

Maybe:
CSCty45240 On 3905 Calling party global number is not shown in call history

What do you consider "latest load" and what is displayed? This also sounds

Yep,

It's in Beta. We're working hard to bring bug search out of the 1980's and into
a more usable workflow. Feedback is welcome. We have hit some bumps along the
way. Still we, and most testers, think it's miles ahead of the original Bug
Toolkit.

So now I've had my first "call sounded bad" issue with the SIP trunk,
but I want to make sure I understand what I'm looking at.

The leg that points at CM had this when the call ended:
P-RTP-Stat: PS=41299,OS=6607840,PR=33182,OR=5309120,PL=0,JI=0,LA=0,DU=826

Packet loss, jitter and latency are all 0. Great! But not.

The problem is that from the perspective of the phone / user, it
sounded bad. Pulling the stats from CM shows that the call had a MOS
of 2.6, and the user complained of it sound like it was "underwater".
PS (CUBE) is 41299, PR (Phone) 31139, loss of 10160 packets from
CUBE->Phone
PR (CUBE) is 33182, PS (Phone) 41315, loss of 8133 packets Phone->CUBE

So, plenty of packet loss. But how come the PL stat is "0"? Why isn't
specify something like PL-S and PL-R? Because the phone certainly
thinks there was packet loss, but that's not reflected in the
end-of-call stats on the CUBE.

Until I know why the discrepancy exists, I don't know that I can trust
the stats on the outbound call leg showing me "perfect" calls.

(But I also need to determine why I'm losing so many packets on the
inside network.)

Turns out it's a feature of the 3905 phone. If both Calling Party Name and

HI all,

I am trying to install CUPs 8.5/8.6 using cisco OVA templates in ESXi 5.
This is first time I am doing so. I understood that we dont need an ISO if
deploying an OVA template? is that correct.

I have tried many times and when it boots its just searches for an image on
the network. I have changed the boot sequence to use Harddrive and also
cdrom.

sounds like I am missing something Big time.

p.s. I have installed the ESXi inside vm workstation.

thanks

FXS in general has a lack of Supervisory Disconnect, that said has anyone
gotten a Gai-troncis RedAlert 393XX callbox to work with an ATA-187 registered
to CallManager?

Problem is you press the callbox button, the public safety answers and tells
you help is on the way. Public Safety hangs up and the callbox blairs out
re-order tone for 3-4 minutes. (You may recall a home phone left offhook will
play a loud re-order tone if you don't hang it up due to lack of Supervisory
Disconnect).

I found the ATA-187 parameter Reorder Delay = Never turns off the sounds, but
doesn't really hang up the phone. The ATA-187 has polarity reversal, does this
work with Gai-troncis callboxes?

In short can anyone say they have had success getting the Gai-tronics to work
with the ATA-187? Maybe there are some settings in the Gai-troncs device?
Page 36 doesn't get me much to work with
http://www.gai-tronics.com/manuals/42004-438i.pdf

I'm thinking the VG-2XX is the better way to go as it has more Supervisory
Disconnect options, but I can't guarantee that will work without testing it.

The OVA just creates the VM with the correct settings, you need a bootable ISO.
It is possible to deploy an entire VM with an OVA and Cisco uses that method
for some other products but not UC Apps.

I have no experience with Gaitronics, but had a similar situation with a paging
interface. The ATA 187 wouldn't and couldn't (per TAC) issue the disconnect. We
had to use a VG202 instead.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Gai-tronics RedAlert callbox analog with ATA-187 ?

Getting ready to do MSI install of CIPC 8.6(3), and trying to figure out if
we can set "Optimize for Low Bandwidth" by default, maybe with a registry
setting or MSIexec flag.

Does anyone have any experience doing this?
