Subject: [cisco-voip] strange transfer 'issue' with shared line

I've encountered something I have never seen before. I don't know if it is
an isse or if it is operating as expected.

I place a call to another dn then transfer to a shared line I also have on
my phone. It takes 6 seconds before the transfer key appears after
entering the extension of the shared line. It has only been reported on
7962 phones.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Take a look at the 'line focus' of the screen when this happens.

If you are on extension 1001 with the other party, and try to transfer to
extension 1002 (also on your phone), when 1002 rings, the phone will focus on
extension 1002 for a bit, showing only soft keys available during ring-in
state. Focus should return to extension 1001 and thereby show you the transfer
soft key again.

That's just a guess though.

I have a SW Only, HP DL380G5 (upgraded to 4GBs of RAM and 146GB HD), went to do
a reboot yesterday and it didn't recover, kept booting but looping at applying
BIOS/RAID Firmware. TAC said we had to wipe and reinstall. Trying that now and
setup is looping at same screen. BIOs is at latest version available (and that
has been on the server for literally years now).
Has anyone seen anything like this? I have a feeling tomorrow is going involve
a fight between TAC and HP support about replacing something.

They should pull in HP support. Sounds like a raid controller failure. I
would suggest swapping the raid controller before any wipe/reinstall!! To
avoid data loss they should involve HP immediately.

Thanks, I have a spare of this entire server that we ended up after migrating
another customer to UCS/VMWare, I'm going to send that adapter onsite and see
what happens.
