I agree with Brian. Our support requirements for UC on UCS don't go that far
down into the connectivity between blades/chassis. You still need a B or
C-series UCS even with this piece of hardware.

I don't see any issues using this for UC. It's running the same blades. Just
simplifies the network/storage connectivity.

correct. heard about it from Account team about 4 months ago. but as we are
going into budget and moving from servers to VM's thought it might be a good
option.

It's being referred to as "UCS Mini". I don't know of any reason it wouldn't
be supported as a voice platform. It should at least work for a specs-based
approach.

Are you talking about the UCS express? I'd like to be able to get a couple of
those in my ISR-G2s and use those instead of SRST.

However, it comes back to, and this is something new that I heard about only at
Cisco Live this year, that the design guide says all your subscribers should be
the same size.

That being said, apparently they are considering supporting it.

Subject: [cisco-voip] UCS Mini with UC

I know that the UCS mini is VERY New but has anyone put any cycles into
thinking about it as a UC platform.

For those EDU's / Agencies / etc that have Voice verse server teams, it looks
like a good possibility thou it does remind me of a ICS 7750 ;-(

Thanks

Scott
