Russell, If you are trying to setup a B2B, you have to use the channel-group command instead of pri-group.
Clock source internal is only supported when using channel-group. When doing network side isdn to a pbx, you have to provide them the clock, I like Brian have not figured out that part of the 4K voodoo. I've included the relevant portion of a t1 config on a 4k in my lab below. Here is the link for 4th gen NIM t1 configurations (I'd suggest a good read here, a lot of syntax has changed that might leave you scratching your head): http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/interfaces/NIM/software/configuration/guide/ConfT1E1NIM.html Hope This Helps, Ryan |----- CONFIG SAMPLE -----| card type t1 0 2 ! isdn switch-type primary-ni ! network-clock synchronization automatic network-clock synchronization participate 0/2 ! voice-card 0/2 dsp services dspfarm ! controller T1 0/2/0 framing esf linecode b8zs ! clock source line primary network-clock input-source 1 controller t1 0/2/0 cablelength long 0db pri-group timeslots 1-24 voice-dsp ! interface Serial0/2/0:23 encapsulation hdlc isdn switch-type primary-ni no cdp enable ! |----- CONFIG SAMPLE -----| ________________________________ From: cisco-voip <cisco-voip-boun...@puck.nether.net<mailto:cisco-voip-boun...@puck.nether.net>> on behalf of Brian V <bvanb...@gmail.com<mailto:bvanb...@gmail.com>> Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2015 8:42 PM To: cisco-voip@puck.nether.net<mailto:cisco-voip@puck.nether.net> Subject: [cisco-voip] ISR 4431 - Need to configure "clock source internal" on PRI interface , get error I have a ISR 4331 that I'm configuring for voice PRI support. Performing an integration with a Nortel PBX (back to back PRI) where i need to be the clock source on the underlying T1 circuit. In the past on ISR G2 platforms (like a 2921), I could configure "clock source internal" under the controller T1 interface. On the 4331 I get the following error when the clock source it set to internal under the controller T1 TIV-4331-01-TEMP(config-controller)#pri-group timeslots 1-24 %Cannot create ds0/tdm/pri-group with clock source internal %pri-group voice-dsp cannot be created under the clock source configuration How do I accomplish the same on this newer platform or is it no longer possible ? The NIM does have it's own DSP resources. I can get the integration up and working, with the default "clock source line", but I get slips on the t1 as the Nortel side is free running and looking to the line as a clock source on its end. I hope I'm just missing something obvious.
