I run the betas on my machine and we have the URL defined. It's if you have lower than check. Matthew G. In our location, we have some people with admin privileges, some without. We also have some people on centralized desktop management, some with local IT admins helping out. Some people have neither and are responsible for their own machines. So right now, when we move to the automatic updates, we're going to have to make sure those on centralized desktop management have their versions upgraded first, and then we can update the URL to include the latest copy. My worry is - if the URL is there from the beginning and the centralized upgrades happen and their version doesn't match the upgrade url , but is higher in version number, will that "pass" the test? Or will the upgrade URL try to downgrade those users? Ugh. --- Lelio Fulgenzi, B.A. Senior Analyst, Network Infrastructure Computing and Communications Services (CCS) University of Guelph 519-824-4120 Ext 56354 [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> www.uoguelph.ca/ccs<http://www.uoguelph.ca/ccs> Room 037, Animal Science and Nutrition Building Guelph, Ontario, N1G 2W1 From: cisco-voip [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ben Amick Sent: Friday, March 24, 2017 9:37 AM To: Cisco VoIP Group Subject: [cisco-voip] Overriding admin permissions necessary for jabber-update.xml So I'm trying to make it so that all my users are on the newest version of jabber, but other than using GPO or third party software to push the new versions, it seems to be impossible to properly use Jabber-update.xml, thanks to the fact that the update requires admin permissions and 99% of our users don't have those. Is there any way to get the updater to use some implicit permission so users can just update the software without assaulting our helpdesk with hundreds of calls?
