You can set the port to accept incoming packets by issuing the following
command:
set span x/x x/x inpkts enable
but there are some considerations that have to be made depending on your
architecture. Please see

also remember that the the port that you are spanning to (the one with the
snffer) cannot be used as a regular network port anymore. Spanning disables
that ability and it can only be used to watch the spanned packets.
So you can't test for things on the sniffer PC.
