Also,  try using a dialer profile with dialer strings instead of dialer map
statements..  Put in both dialer strings for both numbers.  I bet this will
fix the problem.

You might try adding 'no keepalive' to router B's configuration. If one end
of a dial up connection is expecting a keepalive and the other one isn't,
the connection will drop after the keepalive timer expires. I've experienced
the same situation you described, being able to ping for a few seconds and
then losing the connection, and it was caused by one end having a keepalive
and the end not.
