Could someone help me establish a baseline...
What ratio of FCS errors should I expect on switched network?
What ratio of collisions, including multiple and late collisions?
How do these stats tie together?
And one more on kind of the same track...
IF I have a router set up with an IP helper address and the data is being
forwarded in a unicast fashion to the DHCP server, how does a dhcp server
respond to the unicast packet received from the router? Does it in turn
respond by broadcast or in a unicast fashion?
The reason I ask, is I am seeing a fair number of the above error types on an
ethernet switch and I am attempting to find the source of the problem.. Any
information on the above or relating to the above is appreciated.
