This has been resolved. By changing the configuration register to 0x2121, it
changed the baud rate to 19200. What needed to be done was to change the
baud rate on the terminal session and then change the config register back
to 0x2102 and then change the baud again to 9600. All is OK now

means that you will end up in bootmode and that you
ignore NVRAM .

Did you enter 0x2121 or just 2121 ?
If you entered just 2121 change the baudrate to 4800 .
