I seem to remember that Chuck tested this but I can't remember the outcome.
The question was this: if you have two routers connected back to back, one
is physically the DCE while the other DTE and this is determined by the
cable end connected to the router. But I seem to remember that it didn't
matter which side provided the clocking, which made us think that there is a
physical layer DTE/DCE pair, as well as a distinct datalink layer pair.
Is that the case? I don't have the means to test this at the moment or I'd
just set it up myself.
