As long as your boot rom is ok, you can erase the flash without having to
xmodem a new IOS or config.

After you issue an erase flash: command, reload the router, then it should
boot to the router(boot)> prompt.... At that point, config an IP, a
default route if needed, and issue a no shut on the appropriate interface.
You should be able to do a TFTP at that point, which is much faster than
xmodem over the console port, obviously.
