hello,
Excuse the question, it may seem easy, but forgive me because I'm
relatively new. I have 2 2501 routersand 4 computers. Two act as servers (NT
4.0 SP6) on each side. Originally I had this set up as a segmented network.
Router_A is E0 10.0.1.1, S0 is 10.1.1.1. Server_A is 10.0.1.10 with the
Workstation_A at 10.0.1.11. Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Router_B is E0
10.0.2.1, S0 is 10.1.1.2. Server_B is 10.0.2.10 with the Workstation_B at
10.0.2.11. Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. They were all part of Domain_A with
Server_A as the PDC and Server_B as the BDC. IGRP is 100, network is
10.0.0.0. With this config, I can ping all around and file transfer along the
router is fine.
Here's the problem: I wanted to make this two separate domains (Domain_A
and Domain_B). A would be the master accounts domain using the master domain
model. I am able to ping every computer in the network from every computer. I
also see both domains in the browser and can access resources. BUT - when I
do try to copy a file for instance... it is EXTREMELY slow. What could be
some causes that I'm missing here. Also, should my Default Gateway be the S0
interface or the E0 interface... since either seems to work. The 2501's are
back-to-back connected by S0 interfaces (10.1.1.1 and 10.1.1.2). Also each
router is connected to a 3COM hub. Sorry about the long message, but I am
missing something here. Thanks.

John Clemens
