I'm working with a 2511, setting up reverse
telnet, or trying to.
I'm running IOS 12.0(8).
I enter in my "ip host" commands thus:

ip host r5 2005 200.20.10.200
ip host r6 2006 200.20.10.200
ip host r7 2007 200.20.10.200
ip host r8 2008 200.20.10.200
ip host r1 2001 200.20.10.200
ip host r2 2002 200.20.10.200
ip host r3 2003 200.20.10.200

the 200.20.10.200 is my loopback 0 ip address.
my line config is:

line 1 16
 exec
 exec-timeout 0 0
 logging synchronous
 login
 transport input all

When I try to reverse telnet using just the
hostname like this:

router# r1

I get this error:

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

I can do this:

router# telnet r1

and it works.

Am I crazy, or should I just be able to type in
the "r1" and get the reverse telnet session?

Eric
