I'll take a shot at the DE part of your question. When configuring Fr-R
the DE is the discard eligibility. Lets look at a a wan link between 2
routers for example. Let's say you set the DE on that link for 512k. This
means that anything that is sent over the line that is higher than 512, like
lets say for testing purposes, a ping, would be noted in the DE part of the
Sh Fr PVC table. The in and out you asked about is simple. If router A sends
a ping to router B the size of 600k (88 over the DE limit), then in router
A's Sh Fr PVC table, you will see the DE stats noted in the OUT part. If you
then go to router B and look at the Sh Fr PVC table, you will see that the
same number noted in the IN part. I know there is more detail to this but
this might help you out in a layman's terms kind of way. Hope I helped,
