yes daniel cotts was right, the 1601 serial interface is a asyc/sync one and since you have one you're in luck! the only thing you're missing though is a cable that is db60 to rs-232. you can get these straight from a cisco reseller or off of ebay (though its hard to find these on ebay unless you look).
