Dear all, Hello all.I am working for an ISP.We give Shared Internet connectivity to the Home Segment.I have got a MUX which has an E1 connected to it.Then there is a channel Bank through which the 64 KBPS DSL Modems are connected. From the RJ-45 in the modem additional Hubs are being connected through which the home segment is catered apart from persons who want dedicated 64 KBPS connectivity. Thats my Network. The issue that I have is that all the modems are scattered and this makes troubleshooting very difficult. So we are thinking of consolidating the Modems at the data center & from there connecting them to the required hubs spread across a radius of 500 meters. My network Design:
ISP-----E1-->MUX-------->MUX-------Channel Bank-------20 64 kbps DSL Modems with RJ-45----->Connected to Various Hubs------->Distributed to various homes. I have a few questions that I would like the group to answer: 1.Is my network design in order? If not please give me suggestions. 2.If I want to consolidate the modems at the data center what has to be done. 3.Can I remove the channel bank.Use a Output from the Mux connect it to a switch and spread it to the various modems?? 4.I have an old 2501.How can I integrate it to my network?? I have read a lot of stuff but never have had the oppurtunity to implement the stuff. So I am stuck. Please help. Thanking you all in advance.Your help is very much appreciated. -- Regards, Rajagopal. 95250-2463729/02502463729/912502463729.
