I found the design side a very good complement to the
implementation/troubleshooting side of things. To add CCDP to CCNP takes two
exams -- the CCDA exam (if you haven't already taken it) and then the Design
exam. Note -- the DA and Design exams are being replaced:

so you may want to take the newer exams (though there's less data available
on them).
