How about IT for Home Depot?
Non-profit and church affiliated schools always need help. Volunteer to help
them. Build experience. Get to know folks in the field. Ask them for job
leads.
Any small ISPs in your area?
My first IT? job had a large percentage of janatorial type duties. It was a
real change from previous jobs where I was in charge - but it was a new
field for me and I had to start at the bottom.
Hang in there. Find some place to start. Then show them you can do it.
