I ahve learned the the numbers are dependant on the BW setting in the router. In other words a load of 9/255 on an interface that has the bandwidth setting at it's default 1544 would not reflect an accurate load on a link that was not a T-1.

Set the bandwidth parameter of the interface or subinterface to the links actual bandwidth to get a better reading.

If anyone has information to the effect that what I have said is not accurate please let me know, as I am not entirely sure myself, but have been told by a couple of CSIS instructors that the load numbers are dependant on the bandwith setting.

Subject: Re: about the utilization rate of bandwith

Easy enough to check.  Do a sho int s0, and look at the load.  Take that # / # and divide them.  That will give u the utilization on that line.
