Normally I wouldn't respond to these off-topic threads... but as someone who
is fasinated by computing history (Helped my Dad run some old IBM 407
Tabulating machines as a young 6 yo in 1963), I just couldn't resist.

Blasie Pascal.  Although I think it's a stretch to say he was the father of
ASCII.
