All,

I have just checked the cisco website and noticed the recertification policy
is now displayed - it wasn't there before I went on my Holiday and there
doesn't seem to be much talk about it on the newsgroup.

What are peoples feelings regarding the 3 year lifespan of the
CCNA/CCDA/CCNP/CCDP, and a 2 year lifespan on the specialisations?

I dont like the fact that the specialisation exam is simply the most current
exam for the specialisation - sounds like a money spinner to me. I suppose
there is not a lot of choice but to make it this way though. I am also not
too keen on the idea of having to redo all exams if your current
qualification expires. Then I guess you don't let your current quals
expire in the first place.

Looks like I am going to have to get my CCIE after all as I am damned if I
am going to put all that effort in again to simply stay at the the same
technical level when for a bit more effort I can go the final mile... I
will be dusting down the 800 page door-stop and actually reading it. I do
believe the Holy Grail of networking awaits (thats the CCIE by the way).

Just my thoughts. Good luck to all in their studies.

Keith
