11Mbps doesn't really cut it. Understand that the 802.11 stuff has a very
high amount of overhead. Also understand that the more distance, the less
bandwidth. Shooting 802.11 for 5-6 miles, you may only get 1Mbps. Now
take that 1Mbps on a point-to-multipoint and share it with 40 users. Its
not the best thing in the world. Also, you have to realize that alot of
times you are repeating signals from far away sites, so your bandwidth may
get aggregated and eat up even more.
