I have sold quite a few of these. I know what I find them for, and I know
what I sell them for. So let me tell you what you want to pay:
4000M 16/4 $400-$500
np-2T $100-$120
An AGS is going to be cheaper, yes. I bought a 4 port serial for my AGS
for $50. Cables were $200 (for 4, dce/dte).
AGS+ is loud, its big, its ugly, but it works. You can add all kinds of
things, token ring, ethernet, etc, for pretty cheap.
The 4000M has some modules the ags doesn't have. Its more compact, its
more expensive, it runs more modern ios etc.
an AGS with CSC/4, 4 serials, 4 cables, etc, etc everything you need for a
frame switch, is going to be $300-$500 probably (keep in mind cables are
$48 each or so and I included that in that price).
4000M 4 port serial is $400 (np4t). 4000M just to do frame swithching
would be $800-$1000. Closer to $1200 if you want the 2 port ethernet as
well.
