The 1600's are really not the best choice, but they're not a bad choice
either.
Negitives:
They don't support the advanced routing protocols without maxing out the
image, e.g. BGP.
You have to buy WICs to add serial (at least on 1605).
Positives:
They are cheap.
You can add WICs for additional interfaces.
You would be better off getting a couple of 2500's with ISDN and serial
ports, and a 4000 series with lots of serial ports for a FR wsitch, and a
2900 (non XL) switch. Maybe throw in a couple of 1700 or 2600 for VICs.
