Hi,

I have just received the beautiful news that I have passed the CCIE Written.
At the moment I am still typing with my hands trembling from the experience.
For those of you who have still to sit this exam good luck. I personally
didn't enjoy the experience as from question 50 I thought I had failed. As
for exam questions I can hardly remember any BUT what I will say is that you
do not get told how many answers there are to the questions i.e. choose all
that apply between 1 and 8 answers. On most of these questions (around 30)
I found that I always had a maybe correct, so I was faced with do I check it
or Not.

The subject headings for my exam were :-

Cisco Device Operation
Networking Theory
Bridging and LAN Switching
TCP/IP
IP routing protocols
Desktop Protocols
Performance management
WAN
LAN
Security
Multiservice

For me the areas that I thought I was strong in i.e. TCPIP, Cisco device
operation were the worst (except the security questions 33% in that field).
I scored 50% in TCPIP (doh!) and 50 % in Cisco device operation. You really
have to know your bridging if you don't, I reckon you wont pass.

The total I got was 70% ---- the pass mark was 70% -- what springs to mind
is I am one lucky person. But hell, it still says PASS.

I am now sitting the design written in two days (I must be MAD!), will let
you know how that goes but after this experience I am not looking forward to
it.

Aste!

P.S. I am heading to the pub right now! Cheers!!
