I would also pay a lot of attention to the following *RFC 1771 BGP v4 *RFC 1997 BGP Communities *RFC 2796 BGP Route Reflection *RFC 1965 BGP AS Confederations *RFC 1998 BGP Communities for Multihoming I would also read Cisco's site fully to get a feel for their implementation methodology.
