Yes it can. Assuming appropriate crossover cable and addressing of the link.
Idle curiosity. Recognizing that RIP updates will be sent out any interface
whose address has been entered into the RIP networking process, what would
lead you to believe it would not work as expected?
Experiment - set it up this way. Do a debug ip rip events, and watch the fun
