I like the idea of putting a FXS port right next to the CON port of every
router.  Pick up the handset, press #1 and get connected to the default
gateway of the first interface, press #2 connected to gateway of the second
interface.  Kind of a voice hotline for the next hop of the upstream and
downstream ip traffic.
