I got a nice email back from Cisco explaining what's up with their Career Cert. Tracking. -- Jason Roysdon, CCNP+Security/CCDP, MCSE, CNA, Network+, A+ List email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Homepage: http://jason.artoo.net/ Cisco resources: http://r2cisco.artoo.net/ -----Original Message----- From: Usac L. Ramil [removed] Sent: Monday, January 29, 2001 3:10 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Cisco Certification Update Dear Jason, Thank you for contacting Cisco Career Certifications. Our records indicate that you have completed your CCNP and CCDP Certifications. Your lower level certifications, CCNA and CCDA will remain valid as long as you keep your current higher certifications valid. In your case, your CCNA will remain valid up to 12/7/2003 and your CCDA will remain valid up to 12/18/2003. Our records also indicate that you have met the necessary requirements and prerequisite to achieve CCDP 2.0 status, however the "Cert Progress" section in our Tracking System is currently not able to display this information along with the correct valid through dates of your CCNA and CCDA certifications. We are taking the necessary steps to have this corrected, unfortunately we are unable to provide you with any specifics as to when this problem will be fixed. CCIE is not a requirement to become a CCDP. The CCIE information is listed in our Tracking System because CCIE certified individuals who wish to pursue CCDP status are waived from both the CCNA and Foundation exam requirements but are required to successfully complete the DCN and CID exams to obtain CCDP status. Signing the most current version of the Certification Agreement will not fix the problems that I discussed. Do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance. " A year ago I passed my CCNA. On Dec. 7th I got my CCNP. My CCNA recertification date still shows the original date I passed the CCNA, and not the date I obtained my CCDP (which is later than when I got my CCNP, but either one should have bumped the date). My CCNP/CCDA/CCDP all show recertification starting Nov 24, 2000. I'm assuming that "recertification starting" means 3 years from this date it has to be recertified, but I didn't even have my CCNP until two weeks later, my CCDA until Dec. 11th, and my CCDP on Dec. 18th. Nov. 24th appears to be when I went to the tracking site and "signed" the Cert Agreement v7. Also, I'm curious why I have my CCNP v2, but not my CCDP v2, only CCDP v1 (and I took all the recent v2 tests). It appears that the tracking system is listing CCIE certification as a requirement to CCDP v2. Basically, I would anticipate recertifying my CCNP shortly before Dec 7th, and my CCDP shortly before Dec 18th, as so long as I did so they'd remain current. Do I just need to sign the Cert Agreement again to bump the recertify date up to when I got the certs? It all seems a little silly.
