3Com was always very secretive about password recovery, every time I
asked for this type of documentation on the pathbuilder 500 series routers
they responded with 'It must be returned to 3com for password recovery'
thank goodness I never had to go through this with 3com. Now that many of
these products have been farmed out to new vendors that may publish this
type of info so you may find what you need if your product was one that 3com
dumped last year (or was the year before). As everyone knows physical
access is a primary security issue regardless of whether the password
recovery process is published or not. Good luck.
