I passed the CCIE Written this morning, so I guess I'm an official wannabe now. For those of you still studying, here's some insight: I prepared by going the CCDA, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP route (all 1.0 version). I highly recommend reading Doyle - Routing TCP/IP, Halabi - Internet Routing Architectures, and Perlman - Interconnections, until you fully understand the content. From other's I've spoken with, Caslow's Cisco Certification might also be a good addition. I did a last minute review by reading the whitepapers at Certificationzone.com (thanks to all who contribute). I wouldn't, however, recommend using these whitepapers as your only study methodology; they're more of a rapid overview of core content. I found the test to be slightly easier than the CID3.0, though with different content. Anything on the Cisco guidelines is fair game, though I suggest that you know your bridging (and all that goes along with it) cold. All in all, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Well, I'm off to start preparing for the lab now.
