Quick question: The "copper" cable that connects to both the Fast Ethernet
and the Gigabit Ethernet NICs to a switch is the same. It must be the
pin-outs on the individual NIC families that are pinned differently... Does
this sound reasonable?
Fast Ethernet Standard:
100BaseTX is CAT 5 set as 2 wire pairs
Gigabit Ethernet Standard:
1000BaseT is Cat 5 and 4 wire pairs
