It will only PAT one address (the last single address you configure). Say
you had 2 IPs and didn't need any static NATs, you could only use one. You
need 3 addresses total to be useful beyond a single PAT. With 3 addresses
you could assign one to PAT, and the remaining two to NAT pool. You can't
assign a single address to a NAT pool, as it assumes you want to use it as a
PAT.
I believe I tested this a few months ago with 5.2(3). Things may have
changed since 5.3(1), but I doubt it.
