My point is, what benefit is there to having members of the same VLAN in 
both locations? Sometimes there are admin issues that would lead a person to 
group hosts in a given VLAN. Sometimes the issues are political. Mostly, the 
issue is broadcast domain segmentation.

If these aren't the issue, why even implement this?

It may be possible to do it, but why is it a good idea? I mean, I *can* 
drink gasoline, but why should I?
