You must "attempt" the lab within 12 months.
If you fail (hopefully not) you must re-attempt the lab again within the
next 12 months.
If you don't attempt the lab within the first 12 months after you pass the
written, you must pass the written again before being allowed to attempt the
lab.
I'm not sure what happens after 24 months if you still haven't attempted the
lab a second time or you fail it a second time.
I don't what to know..... :-)
I'm sure someone else will though.
