You'll need to give us more information to answer intelligently. Are both
devices on the same subnet? Are they attached to the same switch/hub? What
addresses and subnet masks are you using?
Here are some things to check, specifically:
* Addresses and subnet masks
* Default gateway setting if router is on a different subnet
* Check the Solaris box. Can it ping or telnet to anything?
* Access lists. Is it possible that the Solaris device is being affected
by a list but the win2k box is not?
* Routing. Does the router have a valid route back to the Solaris device?
* Cabling. Link lights on the solaris NIC and switch/hub?
* Speed/duplex settings on the Solaris device (notice a pattern? <g>)
Check all of that and let us know if you're still having difficulties.
