Alot of people have been asking about study materials, here is my 2 cents. Dont do audio, its not good. It is difficult to focus when you are listening to an audio CD. Videos are not good either, you tend to drift off and miss stuff. Like everyone suggest in this group (and they are right), Cisco books are the best, or just use books. After you use the books, use a testing program (maybe like boson) to test what you have read. As someone who has tried every kind of method on all my certifications, books are the best, you retain the most, they keep your attention the most. You can also get more information with a book, you can go directly to the part you had a question about, no rewinding. There are a million reasons to use a books. The other study methods, Videos, Audio, Grafic CBTs may seem easy, but in the long run, they will just cost you more money and time. For me, I am doing my CCNP. I have very little hands on with routers in the work environment, but I do own one 2501 Firewall IOS. My plan of attack is to use syngress books program, I know its full of mistakes, but I think its a good systematic approch for someone who cannot comprehend everything in the cisco books. You have to admit, the CCNP cisco books are not an easy read. OK, dont blast me yet :) After I do each book from syngress, im going to read the cisco books, to make sure all my ducks are in a row. Then finally, use testing software to make sure I did not miss anything, and that im on track. I used the same system for CCNA, syngress then the cisco press. Most material for the CCNA is way off, meaning most of the material I used was not directly related to the exam. But studying alot of extra stuff that is not on the exam will help me now I am ready to do CCNP, so im not complaining :) Brian Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=481&t=481 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
