To telnet from the AUX port the config is just like any of the other
lines except for the port, which on a 2511 is port 2017 (tty 17). That
will allow simple telnet, but I think what you really want to accomplish
is a little more difficult. Let me clarify what it is you're trying to
do.
You want to connect another router's AUX port to a line on the 2511
with the capability to reverse telnet from one to the other, but you
want it to act as though it's receiving an incoming call? Do you want
routing to occur or do you simply want to start an exec session?
If you just want the exec session, you're already set; that's easy. If
you want to route using this method, I'll defer to someone else!
My guess is that you'd have to configure the Async interface on the 2511
for interactive sessions. Then when you reverse telnet you can issue
commands at the prompt that will start a PPP or SLIP session. I've
never done that, though, so I can't really offer any guidance.
Anyone else here do this before?

Hi Group,
Is it possible to reverse telnet out of the AUX port? I've configured
reverse telnet out of other lines in a 2511, and I was wondering if I
could
use the AUX since it seems like just another line.
Actually what I'm trying to do is to try and reverse telnet from
another
router out of the AUX, and into the 2511 as though a phone call was
made
from the other router into one of the 2511 lines.
Thanks
Albert
