Although it has lots of typos, I've heard good things about the Giles study guide. Perhaps the later editions have a lot of those errors fixed. I have read the Sybex CCIE guide and wasn't really impressed at first. In hindsight, I feel that it is a good study guide but not as thorough as you'll need for the actual test. It's probably worth the money, though, if you can find it on sale. Don't pay full price for it. Heck, don't pay full price for any book! I also recently bought the CCIE Exam Cram hoping to find a good study guide without all the fluff included that I hate to wade through. So far I'm pretty disappointed. It has a ridiculous number of typos and errors so far. If I were to only use this as a guide I'd be in a lot of trouble! However, it does appear to be a decent supplement to my other study resources. I saw one person raved about the Todd Lammle book but I saw a review which indicated Todd's book had many technical errors; albeit don't know how true that is.
