Upon the advice of posts here and at other sites, I decided to knock out my
CCDP before taking the CCIE written.  After taking both tests (and passing)
I agree with the reasoning.  The CID is extremely similar to the CCIE
written.  I studied for a month for the CID but only needed two weeks of
studying (after passing the CID) for the CCIE written (bridging, RIF's, you
know the story...)  Nothing was on the CCIE written that I felt was used for
the CID exclusively (i.e.  didn't need to study for the CCIE).  I also agree
with what Robert writes about the CCDP - not really recognized yet but
that's what makes it alluring.
