You know, I've known about this command for some time, and I really need to
start using it. Here's an example:
You're about to renumber ip links (or do other potentially dangerous things
that will cut you off from remotely accessing a router), so you could set
this to happen in say, 15 minutes in the future. You do you work, if
everything goes as planned you cancel the reboot. If not, and you've
screwed your access, you just wait 15 minutes for the reboot and get your
access back (provided you didn't save the config). I've used this method
the "manual" way a number of times (ie, call that site and ask them to
power-cycle the device), but late night this would be useful as well when
folks aren't there, or I don't feel like drivin'.
Of course, check 'show clock' if you don't run ntp/sntp on the box (well,
check the clock anyway to be certain what time it has, heh).
