If you have less than a /24 and you are going to do bgp with multiple
providers, it is a borderline waste of time. I agree that if you are
singlehomed, or are multihomed and already have a /24, getting additional
ips is work, reason being is because the providers have to justify it to
Arin.
I'll restate the keypoint again, if you are going to do BGP in a
multihomed setup, it should be a requirement that 1 provider give you at
least a /24, and you should work it out with the other providers to route
the block from the first.
I do not have a problem with the above Arin policy, personally I'd love to
see mandatory usage guidelines out of the old class a/b blocks that were
being
assigned in years past.
