I just wanted to drop everyone a line and say that I passed my CCIE Written
today on the first try!! It was pretty much what I was expecting, but there
were those obscure areas that got me. Just to go ahead and beat the rush of
email asking what I used to study here ya' go....
Bridges, Routers, and Switches for CCIEs - Bruce Caslow (Read it from cover
to cover, good read)
TCP/IP Vol. I - Jeff Doyle (Ah, the networking bible came through. I just
skimmed certain areas)
Boson CCIE Exams 1, 2, and 3 - (This was the first time that I've used a
Boson exam and I really liked them. I would recommend them to anyone.)
Interconnections - Radia Perlman (Need I say more....)
All in all I spent around one to two months preparing for the exam, but I
could of probably taken it after the first month. I made a bet with my
co-workers concerning passing the first time and purchasing large amounts of
beer if I didn't, so I wanted to be over prepared.
I hope everyone is having as great of a day as I am, and as always I want to
profess my undying love for this forum and all that it brings to the table.
I've been a member for close to three years now and you learn something new
everyday. Unless your Howard and then you learn something new once a week
or so! Cheers!!
