Switch for CCIE/CCNP lab [7:10632]

Hi,
I have a 3016B and am planning to buy a Cisco Catalyst 3524 XL Enterprise
Edition 24-port Switch.

Would this serve the purpose or I should buy a Cat5K or 2900 instead?
