I run multiple 3640's as border routers. The best way to audit them is to
first do a port scan of all possible ports from the outside. Once you've
done that, check with Cisco on router-specific vulnerabilities such as the
current web interface vulnerability and take care of those.
If you care to spend the $$, I would also suggest contracting with a company
such as ICSA (TruSecure) to do external testing. They can be found at
www.trusecure.com.
