GRE will work on win2k if it's a windows based authentication host on the other end. I'm not sure about any other software as far as win2k compatibility but I know the RAS in 2K is supposed to be backward compatible to NT4 RAS/RRAS. It could all be done for the price of one Windows Server license.... You can verify the information above on www.ntfaq.com. I haven't actually tried this...just read it works somewhere.
