I have a product catalog dated June 1998 (don't ask why) - it has a section
titled "introducing a new Cisco product: Cisco 2600 series - modular access
routers"
So around then, I guess.

I think it was the summer of 1998. I know that they were definitely out in
the fall of 1998 so it had to be just shortly before then.
