Some ideas for when this happens.
Get a sniffer trace during time of problem and see
whats going on.
Record 'show interface' stats on the interface(s)
before the problem occurs and after it occurs compare
and see what the differences are (errors,
transistions, etc).
What are the Ethernet interface(s) connected to? A
switch, etc? Maybe theres something going on with
spanning tree every few days.
