upon further thought....(it doesn't provide redundency if the hardware fails
but it does provide redundency through the WAN side)

you could use the 1720 as a one armed router if failover was needed.

set the default route of the hosts to use the dsl connection (1720) then add
a floating static to the dlink gateway. When the 1720's wan interface goes
down, it will then forward packets back over to the dlink, and vavoom,
you're still up and going.

Hello All:
Can someone help me? I'm tring to put up a fail-over internet
connection. Using a cisco 1720 with a adsl interface and an dlink gateway
router for cable. Now what I'm tring to do is route though the Adsl
interface on the router for the internet, and if that interface go's down
have the cable modmem pick up the traffic.

It may sound crazy but it's a small company that needs internet up on a 24
hr basis.

Thanks for any Help
