Any suggestion to troubleshoot this problem will appreciate...
I have a 7206VXR router in witch are terminated pppoA sessions.
>From the sh int atm I can see the following:
mil_7206_2#sh int atm2/0
ATM2/0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is ENHANCED ATM PA
Description: "Collegamento ATM 155Mbps - TD *** - TGU **** - NUA ***"
MTU 4470 bytes, sub MTU 4470, BW 149760 Kbit, DLY 80 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 19/255
Encapsulation ATM, loopback not set
Encapsulation(s): AAL5
4095 maximum active VCs, 23 current VCCs
VC idle disconnect time: 300 seconds
0 carrier transitions
Last input 00:00:00, output 00:00:00, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters 00:00:04
Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0
Queueing strategy: Per VC Queueing
30 second input rate 11268000 bits/sec, 272 packets/sec
30 second output rate 536000 bits/sec, 212 packets/sec
1434 packets input, 13308741 bytes, 0 no buffer
Received 0 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles
0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 0 abort
1267 packets output, 384187 bytes, 0 underruns
0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets
0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out
As you can see I have (ALWAYS!) more than 10Mbps in input and "only" 500Kbps
in output.
This sounds strange because this traffic is genereted from ADSL customers,
and
I was expecting that downstream traffic (output on my ATM interface) was
bigger than upstream traffic (input rate).
I contacted the local TELCO to know the traffic they can see on the BPX
connected to my 155Mbps.
They gave me the following BPX's output ( ONE minute):
Cells CLP (EFCI)
Rx Port: 451656 0 --
Tx Port: 80356 58 --
Unknown Addr : 286 Rx OAM Cells : 0 Rx Clp 0 Cells:
451656
Rx Clp 0 Dscd : 0 Rx Clp 1 Dscd : 0 Tx Clp 0 Cells:
80298
Tx OAM Cells : 0 Rx RM Count : 0 Tx RM Count :
0
Translating cells in bps (53x8/60) it's sounds as believable traffic, but
very
different from my counters.
I was thinking about a cosmetic bug (12.2 (3) enterprise future set) but no
trace about this.
The solution could be an ATM sniffer, but I don't have one.
If someone have any ideas...
Thanks in advance,
Teresa
